Group Counseling for Postpartum moms
A MOMENT FOR MOM POSTPARTUM SERIES
Adjustment to motherhood is hard and it’s important to take a moment for you. The postpartum period is a time of sleep deprivation, mood changes, role transitions, intimacy challenges, new learning experiences and more. There are many times when motherhood is more stressful than joyful. Have you ever questioned: Am I the only mom out there who doesn’t enjoy this, why do I feel so overwhelmed, is this ever going to get better, why isn’t this what I expected, am I a bad mom?
This 6 week group series will provide a nonjudgemental space for you to be your authentic self while learning about and discussing important postpartum topics. You will connect with other moms, receive emotional support, share experiences and learn tools for self-care and coping with motherhood.
WEEKLY GROUP TOPICS
Mood Moments - what is normal and what is concerning
Me = Mom - Identity/role transitions
Mommy Matters - postpartum self-care, finding balance
Mom and Baby - sleep, attachment, development
Intimacy/relationships - partners, family and friends
Momentum/moving forward - supports, resources, goals
A MOMENT FOR MOMS SERIES, facilitated by Courtney Daniels, LCSW, is comprised of 5-8 participants who meet 75 minutes each week for six weeks.
Groups sessions will be held in-person on Wednesdays from 10:00-11:15. Lap babies are welcome to attend.
Participants are required to purchase a six-week, non-refundable, group package.
