What is Yoga?
“Yoga is an ancient science of health for the physical body and balance for the mind and emotions that provides the foundation for the spiritual journey whose destination is self-knowledge.” – Joseph and Lilian Le Page
Yoga means union of the mind, body, and spirit. It’s the ultimate act of self-study, through which meditation, physical practice (asanas) and spiritual connection meet. Yoga teaches us ways to cope with uncertainty. We can let go of anxiety through conscious movement, breathwork and relaxation.
Who is it for?
Yoga is for everyone. You do not need to be flexible to do yoga. There are many variations and styles, there is one suited for all levels of students.
Private yoga is the perfect way to learn in a safe and personalized environment. This allows time for proper alignment in the poses, and questions you may have during your practice.
Gentle/Slow Flow/Moving Meditation
As we dive into this 60 minute practice, you will be guided through what feels like a moving meditation or “conscious movement”. As you flow through the poses you will learn how to connect your movements with your breath.
This practice is both gentle and energizing. Each session we can develop a flow that suits your physical and emotional state. We end each session in a relaxation pose to help calm your nervous system.
This is best for someone who is looking for a challenge both physically and mentally. You will be building strength physically, but also benefit from the meditative state of a gentle/slow flow practice.
