Do you offer ADHD testing or neurocognitive testing, and what does it measure?
Quick Answer
Yes. We offer a Continuous Performance Test (CPT) for ADHD, which is an objective, data-driven assessment that measures attention, timing, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. This is not a comprehensive psychological evaluation—it is a focused diagnostic support tool that helps inform diagnosis, guide treatment planning, and track progress over time. Testing may be completed in person or in a scheduled virtual session, and your results help guide counseling, coaching, and psychiatry next steps.
Detailed Answer
ADHD testing at Kellen Mental Health is available as a Continuous Performance Test (CPT). This is an objective assessment designed to measure attention, timing, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, giving your clinician a data-driven profile that helps inform diagnosis, guide treatment planning, and track progress over time.
This is not a comprehensive psychological evaluation. A full evaluation of the type typically conducted by a psychologist is usually lengthy and may include detailed clinical interviews, review of school records and developmental history, input from teachers or family members, multiple standardized rating scales, and cognitive testing. These assessments can cost thousands of dollars and, while they are necessary in some cases, they are not required for every individual or for appropriate treatment in all situations. Our CPT is a focused, accessible alternative that provides clinicians with the objective data they need to support an accurate diagnosis and effective care.
Depending on what you need, testing may be done in person in a quiet setting or during a scheduled virtual session with your clinician observing and guiding you. After the assessment, we meet with you to review results and talk through what they mean in real life, not just on paper.
Your results can help you choose next steps with more confidence. That may include counseling, online therapy and virtual counseling, ADHD and executive functioning coaching, or an Integrative Psychiatry evaluation if you want to explore medication and holistic options. If you are seeking stimulant medication management, updated testing may be required periodically.
The CPT for ADHD is listed at $200 on our Rates page. If you are unsure whether testing or therapy is the best first step, we will help you decide.
