What We Help With

Life doesn’t always present challenges with a clear label. Sometimes you know exactly what you’re dealing with, and sometimes you just know something feels off. Either way, our Alpharetta therapists have deep experience across a range of mental health concerns. Here are some of the most common reasons people reach out to us.

Anxiety and Stress Management

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons adults seek therapy, and it shows up differently for everyone. Whether you’re dealing with constant worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, or the kind of low-grade stress that never quite lets up, our therapists use evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices to help you build real coping skills. If anxiety is running your day, therapy for anxiety can help you take back control.

OCD and ERP Therapy

Obsessive-compulsive disorder requires specialized treatment, and not every therapist is trained to provide it. At Kellen Mental Health, we offer Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard therapy for OCD. ERP helps you face intrusive thoughts and resist compulsive behaviors so that the cycle of anxiety and ritual loses its grip. Whether you’re dealing with contamination fears, harm OCD, checking, or another subtype, our team includes therapists with focused expertise in OCD treatment.

Depression and Mood Concerns

Depression can feel like a weight you can’t explain to the people around you. If you’re experiencing persistent sadness, low motivation, changes in sleep or appetite, or a sense that life has lost its color, therapy can help. Our clinicians use a combination of psychotherapy, coping strategies, and, when appropriate, coordination with psychiatry providers for medication management.

Trauma and PTSD

Trauma doesn’t always come from a single event. It can build over time through difficult relationships, childhood experiences, grief, or chronic stress. Our therapists are trained in specialized trauma therapies including EMDR, brainspotting, and trauma-focused CBT. If past experiences are still affecting your present, trauma counseling can help you heal.

Perinatal Mental Health

Pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood bring unique mental health challenges. Whether you’re navigating infertility, pregnancy anxiety, postpartum depression, or the emotional complexity of becoming a parent, our perinatal specialists provide compassionate support through every stage.

Burnout and Caregiver Stress

If you’re running on empty, whether from work demands, caregiving responsibilities, or simply trying to hold everything together, therapy can help you find your footing again. We work with professionals, parents, and caregivers who are carrying more than they should have to manage alone.
