What is Telemental Health?
Telemental health, also referred to as video counseling, online counseling, and e-counseling, is the process of providing psychotherapy remotely utilizing a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform.
Telemental health may be useful to individuals, couples, and families who cannot leave their homes, who work unconventional hours, as well as those who live in rural or remote areas.
Who is it for?
Adolescents (13 years old+), young adults, and adults that are permanent residents of the state of Georgia are eligible to engage in telemental health services at HWP (restrictions apply).
Counseling Services Offered via Video
To participate in Telemental health appointments, you will need one of the following devices:
Desktop computer with a webcam and speakers OR
Laptop computer with built-in webcam and speakers OR
Tablet device with built-in webcam and speakers, OR
Smartphone with at least iOS 10 or Android 7.0
You will also need an internet connection that is at least 10mbps and a suitable room that is quiet, private, and free of distractions.

Sessions are conducted utilizing a secure, HIPPA compliant, Simple Practice URL personalized for HWP clients. This URL is provided after an appointment is scheduled.
