Board Certified Physician Assistant Specializing in an Integrative Approach to Treating Psychiatric Disorders

The best way to find out if this approach is for you is to schedule a 15 - 20 minute consultation. Depending on your practitioner’s availability, this consult may be held over the phone, via video, or in-person.

Katie is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in an integrative approach to treating psychiatric disorders. She has an extensive background in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders, and after spending many years treating patients, she realized that it was impossible to treat patients holistically in a typical medical setting. Katie believes in a more compassionate, in-depth approach to mental health and overall well-being. She believes in taking the time to listen to patients rather than rushing them out the door, that gut health and physical health are equally important to mental health, that medications should be prescribed mindfully, and that coordinating care with other medical  providers is an essential part of medicine that is missing in the majority of medical practices today.

Using an evidence-based approach, she believes in a combination of integrative medicine and conventional medicine. She focuses on nutrition, exercise, and mind-body practices to help heal the whole person rather than strictly treating symptoms. She has a special interest in women who are peripartum and postpartum.

Katie graduated with her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Colorado in 2011. She has also trained under Dr. Georgia Ede and is proficient in nutritional psychiatry. Katie is a wife and mom of two. She enjoys reading, yoga, and trying to get outside as much as possible.
