What is Nutrition Health Coaching?

Is a busy life and stress getting in the way of your healthy lifestyle? We’ve been there: trying to improve nutrition, meal plans, exercise, and sleep all while juggling the demands of living a full life and career path. Health coaching combines nutrition education, goal-setting, support, and accountability to help you make lasting changes in your health and life. An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is trained in dietary theory, how to form habits, active listening, and coaching techniques to be your partner in the journey towards better health.

Our Coach supports you by:

  • taking the time to understand your unique health history
  • helping you set attainable, sustainable goals
  • providing personalized resources and education
  • asking the right questions
  • offering accountability in a judgment-free environment
  • encouraging you to take action… one step at a time.

Who Are Our Nutrition Coaching Services For?

Feeling tired of one-size-fits-all approaches to nutrition, diets, health, weight loss, and body image? Have diets confused you more than they’ve helped you? Are you done with chasing pounds on the scale to lose weight for your happiness?

Perhaps you want to be consistent with food, exercise, and healthy habits even while maintaining a busy life. You’re ready to eat mindfully without food guilt or negative body image. You want to finally feel rested, energized, and kick burnout to the curb instead of reaching for sugar and caffeine for a mood boost.

Whatever your goals are, our coach has your back. A health coach supports you and holds you accountable to live YOUR healthiest life. That’s why each health coaching program is customized to you: your health history, your goals, your dietary preferences, your lifestyle. We meet you where you’re at and help you get to where you want to go.

HWP offers health coaching services both in person and virtually to teens, young adults, and adults provided by certified health coaches trained by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

What Can I Expect With A Health Coach Session?

Health coaching starts with an in-depth initial consultation going over your health history, goals, and expectations. This is because each program is customized to you! You will feel heard and supported in a judgment-free zone. From there, you and your Health Coach will create monthly health goals that are specific, relevant to your life, and attainable. These goals become the main focus of your program.

Food and lifestyle recommendations are based on your goals, circumstances, health history, and any chronic diseases you may have. With this approach, change feels attainable and relevant.

Each session, you’ll discuss what roadblocks may be in the way of making progress towards your health goals. You’ll also talk about topics related to the goals you’ve set so that each session is focused on you being able to take action! Your Health Coach uses proven coaching methods, health expertise, practical eating psychology, and individualized support to guide you through each session.

At the end of each session, you’ll agree on recommended actions to take. Remember – this is about progress, not perfection!

After your session, your Health Coach will send you a set of notes of what topics were covered, along with helpful resources, handouts, or assignments that are relevant to you. This helps you hold yourself accountable in between sessions!

What Our Clients Say

Something I struggled with prior to coaching was my inner negative dialogue that would say things like, “you shouldn’t have eaten that, “you’ll never be that size,” “I wish I had x,y,z” etc. Through my work with Lauren, I learned how to reframe those messages, forgive myself, and find balance.”

- Eryn

“I wanted to feel connected to my body and to develop a plan that would allow me to realize my goals of being a healthier person. Lauren was instrumental in me realizing my patterns and behaviors in relation to food.”

- Stephanie

On top of weight loss and a sense of self-acceptance and self-love I’ve never experienced in my life, I’ve gone from taking multiple medications to manage my anxiety and depression to significantly less, managing my mental health through good habits and self-empowerment.”

- Katie
