Meet the Psychiatry Experts

Alpharetta Integrative Psychiatry: A Whole-Person Approach

At HWP, we transform mental health care through a comprehensive and collaborative strategy that blends integrative psychiatry—combining mental health care, primary care, and evidence-based alternative therapies—with personalized treatment options to address the root causes of mental health concerns. Our approach ensures that all aspects of your well-being are considered, leading to a more effective and balanced treatment plan.

Our board-certified psychiatric practitioners and licensed mental health professionals don’t just rely on medication. We consider medication to be just one of the many tools in our arsenal.

We use advanced tools like blood work, hormone assessments, and genetic testing. This approach helps us understand your unique psychological, biological, and lifestyle factors. We then create a treatment plan tailored just for you.

Why Choose an Integrated Approach to Your Mental Health?

Comprehensive Evaluation:

Integrative psychiatry starts with a thorough evaluation of both your physical and mental health. This may include traditional psychiatric assessments, tests like routine or functional blood work, and hormone checks. These tests help to uncover any underlying issues affecting your well-being.

Personalized Treatment Plans:

Based on your evaluation, we create a customized treatment plan that addresses both mental and physical health needs. This plan may include a supplement protocol, nutritional advice, lifestyle changes, as well as standard prescriptions.

Holistic Care:

We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. This means considering factors like diet, exercise, sleep, and overall lifestyle that impact your mental health.

Team Collaboration:

Our approach involves teamwork among various healthcare providers, such as doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, nutritionists, and other specialists. This ensures that all aspects of your health are managed together.

Focus on Prevention:

We emphasize not just treatment but also prevention and wellness. Our goal is to keep you healthy by promoting habits that prevent physical and mental health issues.

Patient-Centered Approach:

You are at the center of your care. We encourage you to actively participate in your treatment plan, making your healthcare experience more personalized and engaged.

The Unique Benefits of Integrative Psychiatry

Integrative psychiatry offers a distinct advantage over conventional methods. This is because an integrated approach addresses both the symptoms AND the underlying causes of mental health conditions.

We combine the strengths of conventional psychiatry with a variety of personalized treatment options. These may include routine and functional lab work, supplement protocols, nutritional guidance, lifestyle changes, and standard prescriptions.

Our multidisciplinary approach goes beyond simply addressing symptoms; we dig deeper to understand the root causes. We design our methods to provide lasting relief, whether you’re dealing with stress, trauma, or mood issues.

Integrative Psychiatric Evaluation

Evaluations last 60 minutes and can be conducted in person or via video. During this time, we gather detailed medical and symptom histories, discuss treatment goals, and develop a personalized plan. This plan may include tests such as routine or functional blood work, a supplement protocol, nutritional guidance, lifestyle changes, and standard prescriptions.

$335

Rate does not include the cost of neurocognitive testing, bloodwork, recommended testing through third-party companies (e.g. neuroendocrine and pharmacogenetic testing), or supplements/medication.

Psychiatric Follow-up

Follow-up visits are 30 minutes long and can be conducted in person or via video. These visits are typically scheduled two weeks after the initial evaluation to review test results, develop a supplement or medication plan if one has not been started, and assess any side effects from new medications.

After the first follow-up, subsequent visits are scheduled every 1-3 months for clients who have started medication and require refills or adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

If you are a new client, you may schedule your consultation or your initial appointment by visiting the contact page and filling out the short form or by calling (470) 231-5355 and speaking directly to our client care coordinator.

All outreaches are returned within 24 hours, during business hours.

Do you accept my insurance?

HWP does not accept insurance. Managed care companies were created to “manage” and contain escalating health care costs. Their bottom line is to reduce costs and raise profits; it is not to increase the quality of care professionals provide or your quality of life. HWP is solution-focused on quality of life and personal goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, we ask you to inform your provider at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session start time. Your full session fee will be charged for missed appointments and cancellations received less than 24 hours in advance.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, credit cards, and health savings (HSA) or flex spending account (FSA) cards that have a major credit card logo on it are all accepted forms of payment.
