Get started with Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Athens Today!

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talk therapy that helps people learn how their thoughts and feelings influence their behavior. A therapist who is trained in CBT helps the client identify the patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior that lead to cycles of distress and then teaches how to change them.

Challenging negative thoughts helps a client develop the confidence needed to try changing their behavior. A CBT therapist can also teach a client new coping skills such as how to relax, how to recognize and manage anxiety, or how to take action when feeling overwhelmed.

Therapy takes place over a specified number of sessions depending on the client’s situation and includes homework. CBT is one of the most effective treatments for a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and substance abuse problems, and is one of the most widely used.

Our team of highly skilled and compassionate therapists offers cognitive behavioral therapy to the residents of Athens, GA. We work with our clients to help them overcome a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and more.
