Distance Reiki in Alpharetta, GA

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word used to describe ‘Universal Life Force Energy.’

Reiki practitioners act as a conduit or channel through which Reiki energy travels. The technique uses the Universal life force energy to balance the subtle energies within our bodies and to heal.

The intended result of receiving Reiki is a balanced physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual being.

How does distance Reiki work?

One of the basic teachings of healing with Reiki is that we are more than our physical bodies. We also have an energy body made up of our aura (energy fields), the chakras (energy centers), and the meridians (energy pathways.)

Like our physical body that takes in food to nourish it and give it energy, our energy body does the same. Reiki healing energy is non-physical connecting directly with pure consciousness that exists at our deepest level of existence.

At this level, time and distance are not a barrier making it possible for distance healing to take place even when the client and practitioner are not together in the same location.

What to Expect

  • Your provider will be in a quiet, undisturbed place usually sitting on a meditation cushion or at a desk.
  • Your provider will begin the session with some soft music and may add sound therapy with a guided meditation.
  • Your provider will then say a prayer silently and set an intention for the session.
  • Your provider will sit in this prayerful, meditative state channeling healing energy for the entire session.

The intention is to heal and support in whatever way is best for you or the person who needs Reiki at that time. You are free to be silent, talk, ask questions, or discuss any sensations you may be feeling.

How do I prepare for a distance Reiki session?

While certainly not necessary, if you’d like to make the most of this type of session, you can do the following to prepare:

  • Before your session, wind yourself down from any stimulating activities. If you enjoy baths, you could enjoy a nice warm one before your Reiki session, or if you have a meditation practice, you may want to do this before-hand.
  • Wear loose, nonrestrictive clothing, turn off any phones, close the computer. Only have available the device we will be using for our session.
  • Choose a quiet space for the session. Keep in mind whether you would like to sit in a chair during your session or lie down. Earbuds are highly recommended.
  • If you enjoy essential oils or scented candles for relaxation, have this infusing or lit before your session.
