Athens, GA Premarital Counseling Sessions

Premarital counseling is an opportunity for you and your partner to discuss your relationship openly and honestly with the guidance of a trained professional. These sessions allow you to sit down and discuss important topics that will affect your future marriage with a licensed marriage counselor. For example, a counseling session can be used to discuss financial issues, family planning, and communication skills

Pre-marriage counseling is recommended for engaged couples who want to learn how they can have a successful marriage. Although not entirely fail-proof, premarital education is a fantastic preventative method against divorce. Pre-marital counseling has been linked to a 30% decrease in the chance of divorce.

It is absolutely vital that you and your future spouse communicate openly about the topics covered in pre-marital counseling. As different couples have their own needs when it comes to this process, make sure there are no surprises by discussing what each of you wants and needs out of the counseling process.
